Our

price of € 25.00 (instead of € 30.00).
200 pages - 28x28
cm format - hardcover - with over 130 large colour photographs
Written by Paolo Bolzani, architect
Photos by Claudio Notturni
Comments by Elsa Signorino (President of Ancient Ravenna Foundation) and
Paolo Racagni (Vice-President of the International Mosaicist Association)
How much has been written about Ravenna through the centuries? A lot,
including in art books, photographic collections and tourist guides. So,
adding yet another title to this vast bibliography may seem a superfluous
and, perhaps, over the top endeavour. Not so. Ravenna is a unique town
thanks to its famous monuments and art collections and its origins that
saw it grow and prosper outside the typical Roman castrum footprint.
|
|
|
|
The
book's authors focus on five itineraries (four within the town and one
outside) and help us, through text and images, to form an idea of Ravenna
as multi-faceted town seen in a different light than the existing literature.
"Idea di Ravenna" is recommended for history and art
buffs; photo enthusiasts; serious travellers and anyone who strives to
gain a more in-depth knowledge of the places they visit, beyond tired
old stereotypes.
